This year, we are keeping one summer tradition close to the heart with a classic red, white, and blue trifle. Light layers of cake, creamy pudding, whipped topping, strawberries, and blueberries make it simple to prepare, beautiful to serve, and easy for everyone to enjoy.
A Classic Fourth of July Trifle
Ingredients
1 prepared angel food cake or pound cake, cubed
2 packages instant white chocolate or vanilla pudding
4 cups cold milk
1 container whipped topping
Fresh strawberries, sliced
Fresh blueberries
How to Assemble
Prepare the pudding according to the package instructions and allow it to set.
Add half of the cake cubes to the bottom of a clear trifle dish.
Layer pudding, whipped topping, strawberries, and blueberries.
Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
Finish with whipped topping and fresh berries. Chill until ready to serve.
The beauty of this dessert is that it does not need to be perfect. Its layers, color, and familiar flavor make it feel right at home on a summer table.
